As highlighted in the Howden’s 2023/24 Men’s European Football Injury Index, the number of injuries sustained in the past season among the top 5 European championships has risen to a staggering 4,123. This marks a 4% increase compared to the previous campaign. Among those hardest hit in Serie A is none other than Roma, joined by Milan, Inter, and Juventus. The figure becomes significant also in relation to the costs to be incurred to address various physical problems. The cost of injuries borne by clubs across major championships stands at a staggering 730.02 million euros. In Italy, the figure is around 10.16 million euros – a decline compared to the previous season (19). 34) -, the highest expenditure among the Serie A teams. A problem that has been ongoing for several years: in the last four seasons, clubs from the top-5 European championships have endured a total of 14. 292 accidents, accounting for a staggering expenditure of 2.3 billion euros.
