The former president wanted to thank the midfielder who announced his retirement today. Underneath his post, countless messages poured in, including from many Roma fans.

James Pallotta in Roma is never unnoticed, not even for a simple social media post. The former yellow-red president on X wanted to send a message to Kevin Strootman who today announced his retirement from competitive football: “Thank you Kevin. Congratulations on the wonderful playing career and good luck for the next chapter”. This is the message from Pallotta that certainly was not ignored by the die-hard fans. A vast number have commented under the post, though largely dividing between those ardently seeking his return and others still holding grudges over some decisions made during his reign in the Capital: “Come back Jim, and make Roma great again” writes one fan, taking a leaf from the widely recognized American slogan, “Make America Great Again”. Echoing many others: “Come back as President”, “We miss you”. Equally, however, there are just as many completely opposite comments: “Selling Strootman at the end of the market was a great move”, “Don’t talk about Roma, you’re not one of us”. The Giallorossi fans are greatly shaken by this beginning of the season. The sacking of De Rossi, the farewell of Lina Souloukou, and the arrival of Juric on the bench do not represent a step forward in terms of ambitions. As such, the Curva Sud against Inter announced their entry into the stadium 15 minutes after the starting whistle, in an ongoing protest that has lasted for several weeks now.
