The Emir of Qatar has been in the Capital for several days and Roma fans are hoping for a possible acquisition of the club.
Sheik Tami bin Hamad al-Thani: a complicated name to remember but lately, he’s been quite the talk of the town. He’s in Rome and, besides meeting the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, he was also present at the Olympic Stadium to watch the Sunday match against Inter. His mere presence was enough to ignite the fantasies of the yellow-red fans who are hoping for a possible purchase of the club by the emir of Qatar. According to a report by La Repubblica, the negotiations for an imminent sale of the club are still active with Dan and Ryan Friedkin, who might thus prioritize their new investment in Everton. From Trigoria, adamant denials keep coming in, but the hypothesis doesn’t seem so far-fetched. The presidents are constantly in the eye of the storm and the ‘Curva Sud’ has criticized them with a harsh banner: “Friedkin: your absence is so blatant that you sent a Frenchman to speak for you.” A clear message received by American owners, who despite numerous investments, are paying the price for a series of erroneous decisions. These mistakes were not only on the field but off it as well. The fans also scolded for a lack of attention towards the club’s history, repeatedly calling for a return to the old emblem.
