A room for children with autism. On the occasion of Roma-Torino on October 31, the yellow-red club, together with Sport e Salute, inaugurated at the Olympic Stadium the “quiet room” intended for children with autism, to allow them to watch the game in a protected space. The room set up by Sport and Health in the Monte Mario Tribune presents a comfortable and welcoming space that will allow children to follow the game in total safety, offering a unique and relaxing experience. AS Roma and Sport and Health will identify, from time to time, the volunteer organizations to which this space will be reserved, inaugurated at Roma-Torino by the ‘Discover Autism’ association. Furthermore, as already happened during the Roma-Udinese game, the Club will continue to provide special noise-cancelling headphones to the small mascots with disabilities and hyperacusis who will take to the field with the players throughout the season. This enriches the range of services from the ‘Overcoming Obstacles’ project, which AS Roma inaugurated in 2022 to facilitate the enjoyment of matches at the Olympic Stadium for disabled fans: from the ‘Unstoppable’ mobility service implemented in collaboration with Toyota/KINTO, to the radios for the audio description of the match for visually impaired fans, right up to the translation of the anthem into Sign Language for deaf people. Emanuele Federici, the head of the Discover Autism association, was a guest at the Olympic event yesterday: “It was a beautiful and moving evening. The children’s eyes were full of joy, it was their first time at the stadium and they managed to enjoy the match, feeling like they were part of the event”. “I hope that this extraordinary initiative can be replicated not only in Rome, but in all stadiums.”
