The yellow and red club participated in the series of events represented by the boys of the male and female Spring team.
Roma takes the field for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims with the second edition of the “Keep life in play” campaign for safe and responsible driving. Starting from November 12, the theoretical and practical course, aimed at three institutes in the city, has taken place to try to counteract the dramatic balance of road victims. The yellow and red club, represented by the boys and girls from the Men and Women’s Primavera teams, participated in the event in collaboration with Toyota, who provided four suitable vehicles for young, newly licensed drivers. Here is an excerpt from the club’s statement. AS Roma renews its commitment with the Automobile Club Roma and Toyota, to promote a safe and responsible driving style among the youth of the capital.
After the success of the first edition of the “Keep Life in Play” campaign, which took place in March 2024 involving over a hundred final-year students from three Roman schools and the entire AS Roma Primavera team as project testimonials, the second theoretical and practical course aimed at three other city institutes commenced on the past 12th of November. The initiative by AS Roma, devised in partnership with the Automobile Club Rome and supported by Toyota, continues its mission to combat the tragic toll of road accident victims that occur each year on the streets of the capital. Driving distractions and lack of obeying traffic signs account for over half of these cases, with excessive speed leading the pack. For this reason, students from the schools IIS Giorgi-Woolf, ITIS Galileo Galilei, and ITC Vincenzo Arangio Ruiz, along with the boys and girls from the two Primavera giallorosse teams, acting as credible testimonials and amplifiers of the message of safety, attended interactive theoretical lessons for a proper driving style at the Council Room, courteously made available by the IX Municipality. Valerio Vella, the Head of ACI Ready2Go, during the two-hour theoretical lesson, addressed the fundamental concepts of safe driving useful to prevent road accidents: speed limits, active and passive safety, ADAS devices, and tips to always maintain the utmost concentration behind the wheel. To introduce the objectives of the course to the students and the youngsters of Roma’s Primavera teams (on this occasion accompanied by the Head of Women’s Football for AS Roma, Betty Bavagnoli, and the Team Manager of the male squad, Manuel Marzocca) participants included the President of the IX Municipality Titti Di Salvo, the Councilor for Education Paola Angelucci, the Director of the Automobile Club Roma Riccardo Alemanno, and the Business Developer and Communication Specialist of Toyota Massimiliano Rossi. The Marketing Director of SCCI, Lorenzo Maria Zanchi, was also present for the shopping center. AS Roma thus reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the well-being of the community in synergy with local institutions, identifying on each occasion the areas most deserving of a pro-active and supportive intervention from the Club and its fans, acting as a true social platform.
