The forward now playing for Milan has revealed the conversation he had with the Portuguese before making the move to the Yellow Reds.
Tammy Abraham left Roma on loan this summer, landing at Milan after 3 years in yellow and red. The English forward, in an interview on the BBC Sport’s Away Goals Show, has revealed the behind-the-scenes details of his move from Chelsea to Roma in the summer of 2011 for 34 million pounds. Here are his words: “I was on the Playstation with my friends. I got a call, I answered, and I greeted them. And he said, ‘Hello Tammy, this is Jose. Would you like to stay in rainy England or come over to sunny Rome?’. And I remember running upstairs to tell my parents and we thought that Rome was the right place to go. José has been one of the best coaches I’ve ever had. “He has always believed in his ideas and as a player, you perceive his energy and share it.”
The adventure at Roma?
“I have no regrets, I enjoyed it a lot, and it was fantastic.”
