The AS Roma’s recurring initiative in support of people in difficulty housed at the Hotel Divino Amore Casa del Pellegrino by the Rome’s Diocesan Caritas
The final important event of 2024 for the volunteer program of AS Roma employees, this time in support of the homeless. On the occasion of Christmas, the big yellow-red family has indeed gifted clothing and blankets to over a hundred homeless people housed at the Hotel Divino Amore Casa del Pellegrino by the Rome’s Diocesan Caritas, in a collaboration that has solidified over time and was recently also strengthened through the Stadium Olympic’s ‘Food for the Community’ program for the recovery of surplus food from hospitality areas. As reported by the club on their official website, AS Roma’s employees were proactive several days ahead of the event by initiating an internal collection of used clothing in good condition. These were added to the numerous official clothing items provided by the Club for the initiative.
Blankets, sleeping bags, sweaters, thermal shirts, scarves, gloves, and woolen hats were then distributed on December 20th by the employees themselves, as well as numerous boys and girls from the AS Roma youth teams. This substantial effort aimed to assist the homeless who, after their temporary stay at the Divino Amore facility, would then be moved to other suitable shelters. The occasion of the collected clothing delivery proved to be opportune for a small Christmas toast and a chance to spend some leisurely moments together with the guests of the Pilgrim’s House. It indeed involved the local community of parishes that had shown up for the event.
