President Aurigemma’s words: “We have rewarded two teams for the significant milestones they have achieved, but above all, today we are honoring a team and the sport it represents, which signify significant values.”

The Lazio Region is investing in sport with a 30 million euro plan for the next three years, aimed mainly at grassroots sports through sports vouchers. The regional sports councilor, Elena Palazzo, emphasized the importance of supporting facilities and promoting opportunities for young people: “We are working comprehensively on sport. To ensure the basic provision, sports vouchers have been planned: 30 million euros to be allocated for the next three years. I believe that the Lazio Region has never undertaken such a significant action. The conversation then continued with an answer to a question: “To women and women’s soccer I want to say that we have nothing to envy anyone. I feel like one of them. Women are always determined, prepared, they have courage to spare, and the results never fail to show up.” During a ceremony at Mechelli Hall in the Regional Council, awards were presented to the AS Roma women’s team (winners of the Italian Super Cup) and the ASD Roma 1927 Futsal Under 19 men’s team (champions of the Championship, Italian Cup, and Super Cup), as reported by Adnkronos. The President of the Regional Council, Antonello Aurigemma, has reiterated the educational value of sports, citing initiatives against bullying and cyberbullying in collaboration with sports clubs: “Our role is to support sports as much as possible, investing also in facilities and promotion, ensuring that young people have opportunities and achieve great results like those we are witnessing today from these two clubs. “These youngsters are role models and a benchmark for the new generations,” and then continued, “Today, we honor significant values.” We have honored two teams, AS Roma Women’s Football and AS Roma Futsal, for the significant milestones they have achieved. But, more importantly, today we celebrate a team and the sport that represents vital values: respect for the rules, opponents, sacrifice, and hard work. Guests at the ceremony also included Rosella Sensi, former president of Roma, and Maurizio Lombardo (Chief Football Operating Officer Women’s Football). The event wrapped up with the Rome’s anthem, celebrating the role of the youth teams as models for the new generation.
