The German defender for Roma has produced and is launching, along with his compatriots, Herbstmeister Wein: “It would be wonderful if we could help people enjoy a pleasant evening drinking our wine.”

Mats Hummels, Robin Gosens, and Christoph Kramer. This is the new trio that, together, won’t be stepping out onto the field in the same jersey, but has decided to launch their own wine. The defender from Roma, alongside two fellow countrymen, and in collaboration with Philipp Khun and HO Spanier, two German wine experts, is primed to let everyone taste his own Autumn Master (Herbstmeister Wein in German, Autumn Maestro Wine in Italian), a cuvée of Riesling 2022 from the vineyards of the two wineries in Zellertal in the Palatinate. The project was announced via a social media video from the company and the footballers themselves, in which they are seen harvesting the grapes. The price range will be in the mid-high tier, with each bottle expected to cost around 30 euros. However, the initial release will be limited to just a few thousand units.

Hummels later told ‘Bild’: “We wanted to do something different all together. It would be wonderful if we could assist people in enjoying a splendid evening by savoring our wine. Kramer and I share a longstanding friendship; we’ve known each other for over a decade. We regularly go out to eat together and enjoy sipping on a glass of wine. I have faced off with Gosens on the football pitch multiple times, watched him perform on television and then we had our first true interactions at Euro 2021. “We instantly clicked and became friends,” the source reveals. “Now we both play in Italy, bringing us even closer together.”
