Morgan De Sanctis is ready to embark on a new adventure after his recent tenure at Salernitana. The former Roma executive, known for his extensive background in Italian football, is on the brink of a significant career move, as reported by Sky Sport.

De Sanctis, who played as a goalkeeper for Roma for three seasons before transitioning into management, initially joined Roma’s backroom staff in 2017. He served as the team manager while pursuing coaching and management courses. By the summer of 2021, De Sanctis had become the assistant to Sporting Director Tiago Pinto, focusing on youth development, integrating young talents into the first team, and managing market operations for players no longer fitting the club’s vision. However, his journey with Roma ended in February 2022 when he terminated his contract with the club.

Following his departure from Roma, De Sanctis took on the role of Sporting Director at Salernitana, replacing Walter Sabatini. Despite the promising start, his stint at the Campanian club lasted only six months before his contract was terminated.

Now, De Sanctis is poised for a significant comeback. According to reports, the former Roma executive is close to securing a role with Besiktas as their new Sporting Director. Negotiations are ongoing, and while an official offer has yet to be made, sources like Gianluca Di Marzio indicate that the deal is nearing completion.

This move would mark a return to Turkey for De Sanctis, who previously played for Galatasaray during the 2008-2009 season before moving to Sevilla in La Liga. The potential appointment at Besiktas represents a fresh start and a chance for De Sanctis to demonstrate his capabilities as a top-tier football executive.
