The words of the former midfielder: “The Giallorossi environment is not doing well at this moment. Juric has not yet been able to find balance.”
David Pizarro has spoken again about Roma, particularly regarding the upcoming challenge against Fiorentina. The former double has voiced his thoughts over the microphone of Radio Firenze Viola. Here’s what he had to say:
Pizarro, your game is approaching. How are you experiencing the build-up? “Fiorentina and Roma are coming into this clash in a completely different manner. The current atmosphere in the yellow-red camp is not in good shape, despite yesterday’s victory against Dinamo Kiev. It appears that Juric, who recently joined, has not yet found his footing. Therefore, for this clash, La Viola is favored. This is both due to what’s going on at home with Roma and the strong momentum of Palladino’s team, which, after a slow start, has found a strong identity.
Is it then the coach’s merit? “But also Commisso’s, if you allow me a jest: ever since he mentioned Sarri in an interview a few days ago, the Viola have not lost a single match. Perhaps the coach made the crucial turn right there.”
“What view has been formed around the chaos related to the dismissal of De Rossi and the subsequent enlistment of Juric?” “It’s an inexplicable affair: you can’t dismiss a coach who had, in fact, built the team in his image for just a few games into the season. In a serious organization, something like what happened to DDR could not occur. For this reason I want to say to the people of Florence: hold tight to Commisso!”
Why?
“Because he is a prominent figure, even from afar, who speaks out when things are not going well. In contrast, the Friedkins in Rome never speak: we don’t even know their voice.” Will the Florence Race be Determined by Juric? “I admire Ivan because he comes from humble beginnings: he has my total respect. However, if the team is not performing, it’s because he didn’t build this group and it’s not easy for a coach to step in and quickly imprint a clear game style. “I can tell you this, as someone who has been involved in the world of soccer,” he said.
We round off with Roma’s Zalewski, whose eye is on the violet—the color of Florentine football. Would he look good in Florence? “Yes, partly because a change of scenery would be good for him on a mental level. Lately, he faces opposition every time he steps on the field. Perhaps a new venture would aid him: just look at how well he performs each time he represents the National team. “Pizarro, we are waiting for you in Florence, amidst the construction of the Franchi…” “In Florence, they are doing incredible things: from the magnificent sports center, which I unfortunately have not yet had the opportunity to visit, to the restoration of the stadium. All of this pleases me because it means that Fiorentina intends to grow as a team.”
