Once a month at the Stadio Olimpico, there is an informational stand in front of the Curva Sud, complete with stewards and hostesses. Prior to the match they aim to raise awareness among the Roma fans about the importance of recycling.
Roma has joined forces with AMA. Roma’s official website announces the collaboration between the club and the municipalized company of the Capital, stating that they “are uniting their efforts through the ‘All Responsible’ project for the promotion of recycling. The initiative, part of the UEFA”Sustainability Policy” on the “Circular Economy”, and held once a month at the Olimpico Stadium, involves the placement of a informational booth in front of the South Curve with stewards and hostesses. Before the match, they will “sensitize the yellow-red supporters about the importance of waste sorting and disposal times.”
The statement continues, outlining the initiative: “Through collaboration with Primo Municipio, within which the Olimpico Stadium is located, the project also aims to protect the decorum of the area surrounding the facility, with a special focus on the disposal of cigarette butts and electronic cigarettes. This special synergy, already in place since September, was officially launched during the Rome-Inter match when the General Counsel of AS Roma, Lorenzo Vitali, alongside Mayor Gualtieri, welcomed the President of AMA, Bruno Manzi, the General Manager, Alessandro Filippi, and the Councillor for Environmental Policy and Waste of the Primo Municipality, Stefano Marin an event held inside the Hospitality Area.
The Mayor of Rome, Gualtieri also added, “Projects like ‘Everyone is Responsible’ have a significant value in strengthening the culture of sustainability in our city. For this reason, I want to thank AS Roma for joining the collaboration with AMA.” The involvement of everyone, from institutions to citizens, is indispensable for improving the quality of urban life. “Recycling is a concrete action that can make a difference” and initiatives like this one, especially in “symbolic places like the Olympic Stadium,” are an essential vehicle to promote greater awareness and respect for the environment.”
